Our mission is to disciple young married couples,
helping them to become more mature in their marriages in order to be more fruitful in serving Jesus Christ together.
This is spiritual work and will bear fruit only as we follow and rely upon God.
Our distinctives as a ministry are:
1.
We teach and model ministry as a husband and wife team, which means
sharing the same ministry whenever possible; praying for and supporting each other in ministry time not shared.
In this way ministry brings couples together rather than pulling them apart.
2.
We disciple couples primarily through the approximately 15-month Marriage
Plus course that is taught in a small group format in homes. Couples who wish to take the course must apply
and be accepted.
3.
We are a catalytic ministry, meaning that couples who take our course are
expected to remain in their present churches or ministries, better equipped for ministry after
completing the course.
4.
Some of the couples who complete the course will choose to teach the full course
in the future. In some cases this will be done as personal ministry beyond their normal ministry responsibilities.
In other cases teaching the Marriage Plus course may become part of their normal ministry responsibilities, but
only if their ministry leadership agrees.
5.
We are a ministry that values the local church and expects our staff couples to be
active in loving and serving the young couples in their church, whether or not this is part of their normal ministry
responsibilities as Marriage Plus staff.
6.
We are a U.S.-based, international ministry, providing training overseas since 1994.
7.
We are a faith-based ministry that requires all staff to raise support for their
salary and ministry expenses.
8.
We are a ministry of couples to couples, which means that both husband and
wife serve as staff.
